Recently, I’ve met several young people whose parents have mental illness. It can be rough for these young people, but help is available for them. They need to be in counseling to help them cope. Also, the young person’s relationship with their parent would be better if they both work on communicating better. If you have a parent with a mental illness or you are the parent, ask your healthcare provider for a referral to counseling.
